This jig came to my attention during a recent visit from Cheticamp fiddler Yvon Lefort. It is one of the last compositions of Inverness fiddler-piper the late Francis Rory Sis MacDonald (1931-2014) and is a tune not found in his book, Margaree Music. Jimmy is a fiddler from New Waterford. His brother, the late Sonny Slade (1933-99) of Ashby was highly influential in my development as a musician. He plays on a couple tracks with me on my CD The Lighthouse. I fondly remember when I brought my tune The Rocky Shore back from the Lighthouse Sonny showed me how to dress it up with double stops.
