Brenda Stubbert &endash; fiddle (Different Strokes)
This Irish jig appeared in Roche's Collection (1911) as The Boys of the Town. In both Cape Breton and in Ireland it is often played in a medley with different G major jig which O'Neill (1903) also called The Boys of the Town. Rather than create another title - or casue confusion - I simply call the above jig The Boys of the Town #2. I first heard it in Cape Breton from Tommy Basker and Johnny Wilmot. In recent years both Brenda Stubbert and Andrea Beaton have recorded it .
