Originally published in an A minor setting in O'Neill's Collection this E minor version likely comes from the New York Irish tradition. (see Brian Conway's CD - First Through the Gate).

In Cape Breton Buddy MacMaster recorded it as The Golden Keyboard (a title usually associated with a reel written by New York based accordionist Martin Mulhaire). More recently Buddy's neice, Andrea Beaton, recorded it on License to Drive'Er and Ian MacDougal on From Foot Cape
