Bachelor's Jig is a 19th century Scottish tune which was first recorded in Cape Breton by Joe MacLean on a 78 disc. Joe's good friend Bill Lamey also played the tune and it can be heard on his CD, Full Circle (Rounder Records).

The original was composed for pipes by a J. Abercromby as His Royal Highness, The Duke of Rothsay, and was published by The Queen's Piper William Ross in the late 19th century. It is currently found in Brenda Stubbert's 2nd Collection.
