later published in The Cape Breton Collection (1940) a
book by Gordon MacQuarrie. Vincent MacLellan was a
carpenter, fiddler and amateur fiddle maker originally
from the Margarees. Angus Allan Gillis was his first
cousin. Vincent lived much of his life in the Mira
area. The sound clip comes
from Brenda Stubbert who recorded it with Howie MacDonald
on her Endless
