Dan J. Campbell was the likely 'recent' source of this tune, he passed it on to his son John who recorded it on lp. Later it appeared in the Dungreen Collection as Tradirional Laddie (complete with 'wild notes') and in Barry Shear's Gathering of the Clan's Collection set with bagpipe gracings as Traditional Cape Breton Reel. The setting above is adapted for fiddle based on Barry's perfomance on A Cape Breton Piper.
