Also of note is an influential late 19th century Irish-American compilation known as Ryan's Mammoth Collection. Popular in Cape Breton, during the mid- 20th century it was readily available throughout North America in an inexpensive edition known as 1000 Fiddle Tunes. It too contains many tunes which originated in Scotland.
