For 34 years (1975-2009),
fiddler-composer Paul Cranford kept a 'day-job' as a
lighthouse-keeper.
He started publishing books of fiddle music in 1979 with a
reproduction of The
Skye Collection.
Lighthouses proved to be an ideal place to write and
practice. His final posting was Machias
Seal Island a bird
sanctuary located on the Canadian-US border in the Bay of
Fundy. Recently retired, Paul now lives on the Cabot Trail
in rural Cape Breton. Cranford Publications is a home based
business.
