On this lovely CD Ashley plays traditional tunes with fiery passion.

Most tracks pay hommage to a specific player of the last generation -- Buddy MacMaster, Joe MacLean, Angus Chisholm, John Campbell, Donald Angus Beaton, Thesesa MacLellan etc.

BSBDSDF-CD Brenda Stubbert - Different Strokes for Different Folks $19.50

It's always a treat to get a new recording from Brenda Stubbert. Even the old standards never fail to surprize you.

Lively as ever, for most of the recording Brenda is accompanied by Howie MacDonald and Dave MacIsaac. As well, flautist Nuala Kennedy joins in on track 3 and piper Kenneth MacKenzie for track 11. The program also includes a couple of songs from Brenda's old friend, Blanche Sophocles.

KAMKPF-CD Piob is Fidheall - Kenneth and Angus MacKenzie $19.50

This is this first recorded from two brothers Kenneth and Angus MacKenzie of Mabou Cape Breton. Kenneth plays highland pipes, border pipes and fiddle. Angus plays pipes and whistles.

In 2009 the brothers won the Celtic Colours Drive'Ers Association Award. "Piob Is Fidheal" (Pipes & Fiddle) is the CD they created with the help of that prize.

This was John Allan's debut recording. Recorded in 1968 and released as an LP, this CD adds careful remastering and extensive liner notes.

John Allan inspired a generation. His instrumentals were learned by virtually every Cape Breton musician who started out in the 60s and 70s.

A very powerful album, some listeners are saying this is the Barra's best recording to date!

Each track features a different artist or group accompanied by members of the Barras who tastefully join in. The CD includes two instrumental sets - the rest are songs from Celtic Colours performers, with instrumental breaks and backup by various members of the Barras.
