Hamish Moore - Stepping On The Bridge (CD)
$19.95
(CD) - Scottish piper Hamish Moore recorded this album in Cape Breton. The beautiful timbres heard from a wide variety of pipes made by Hamish himself are blended with the fiddle of Jerry Holland and the piano stylings of Hilda Chaisson. Vocal, Viola, Cello and sax were added on a few tracks later in a Scottish Studio.
Hamish has been attracted to the older styles of Cape Breton piping and especially its connnection to dance. On this CD the repertoire is mainly Scottish .. but played in a Cape Breton style.

Puirt a Baroque - Bach Meets Cape Breton (CD)
$19.50
(CD) - Bach Meets Cape Breton is Puirt a Baroque's first CD and it is a classic. To many traditionalists fusion is a dirty word ... but this actually works. Who word think a medley could flow from Bach into a reel as naturally as strathspey to reel?

Puirt a Baroque - Kinloch's Fantasy (CD)
$19.50
(CD) - Kinloch's Fantasy is their 2nd CD. All instrumental selections, this recording received rave reviews from classical enthusiasts.
Featuring the wonderful fiddling of David Greenberg. Puirt a Baroque (poorst-a-ba-roke) is an ensemble that brings a new and delightful perspective to both Baroque and Scottish-Cape Breton musics.
Daivid is one of the only violinists in the world who convincingly "goes both ways". Many of you will recognize him as a lead violinist for Tafelmusik or as the co-author of The Dungreen Collection (Traditional Celtic Violin Music of Cape Breton), a collaboration with his wife, Kate Dunlay).

The Captain's Collection O/S
$0.00
(CD) - The Captain's Collection is a new CD from Scotland, a tribute to Sinon Fraser of Knockie. Featuring Gaelic singing, piping and fiddling. The musicians "reunite the Gaelic words with the tunes, presenting the music in a range of styles in the hope that his [Fraser's] music can be played and enjoyed by others." For The Kilchatten Wedding they effectively arranged Fraser's fiddle setting, alongside a traditional pipe setting alternating between pipes and Puirt a Beul (vocals).
